What the fuck is going on with civilian police????

I'm late to this but WHAT THE FUCK!

I say with a certain amount of happiness that I haven't had a bad experience with police but this stuff is becoming more than alarming.  Lets be real.  This could happen to anyone given the proper set of circumstances.

What bothers me most about the video?

They start playing to the camera after the shooting.  The "drop the knife" and bean bag was just trying to put some justification into a terribly unjustified shooting.

Hearing the guy on the ground wheezing and no one calling for an ambulance is also telling.

They needed the guy to die so that only their version of events would come out.  This is bad stuff.  Real bad stuff.

Sidenote:  What irks me the most is that most major cities have gangs that need to be dismantled.  ATF, FBI, US Marshals etc...could all be going after those guys with a vengeance and get cheered on when they use their "armored vehicles"...City police and Sheriff's depts could be doing the same.  Yet all I'm seeing are people that are trying their best to mind their own business getting gunned down.  Its sad and pathetic.

    3. Don't mind Sol, as you already know, douchebaggery is a worldwide problem. We have our quota. ;-)

I think we should consider the context, such as this guy criminal history. Three M-4 looks a bit scenical to me. A good taser could do the job against a knife, maybe. I saw cops at Sao Paulo solve a similar situation with a taser. However, I don't know if it does the job against that coat.

  3. Couple things to take into consideration:
1st- The guy was holed up on land he wasn't allowed to be on (that doesn't mean its ok for police to shoot the guy though).

2nd- Those cops were rolling pretty deep with M4s and plate carriers, not normal cop attire, this makes me think that something happened before with this individual that caused them to gear up. The guy had a history of threatening cops at this location. James Boyd had sliced a guys face up with a box cutter in 2009

3rd- the guy had two knives, though certainly better equipped knives are still dangerous. If the cops don't shoot him, and he stabs one in the jugular, no one cares, they play the pipes and move on.

4th- The officers should have called an ambulance and tried to save the guy, bad on them, I would rather those officer's kids have a dad though.

I know I am going against the grain here Sol gotta disagree with you, if this guy hadnt been a nut thats threatened cops in the past there would be a case here. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

  4. In most western countries these cops would be facing long prison sentence. Here they might even end up with a medal

I do not know what are the standards to make the grade but it seems police is full of trigger happy cowards

    1. who was the victim? what was his criminal history, what were the events that led up to the incident? Why were the cops in full deuce gear, despite the fact that local LEOs dont generally patrol in full deuce gear? More to the picture than can be seen here, thats why we have courts. Those trigger happy cowards are the ones that will be first on the scene of an accident administering first aid, and the ones scraping brains off the side of the road when everyone goes home.

    2. ok. then lets break this down to our par of the world. your Marines are on patrol and run across a disturbed "national" that is producing a knife.

they have the interpreter talk to him for awhile and then he does something squirrelly and they gun him down.

witnesses are present and saw that the idiot only had a knife while your 3 Marines were loaded for bear.

      do you....

      1. send a flash message to higher headquarter telling them that shit might hit the fan or do you

      2. ignore the whole thing and let it ride.

later the whole thing shows up on the internet. do you think you would keep your command?

if your answer is no then you're halfway there. these guys fucked up. no, i'm not saying do some kind of ninja move and disarm the guy but calling for bean bags after he's shot? not controlling your damn dog and letting him attack the guy? not calling for an ambulance?

      spare me.

      these fucker need to fry.

oh and the shooting upsets me less than the actions immediately after the fact. the monologuing was pathetic. the lack of calling for medical treatment criminal.

    3. Who or what he was doesn't mater , what we see in the video its murder . But use of deadly force for no apparent reason that is a US speciality , German police for example discharged firearms total 45 times in 1 year and their SEK handles things like SWAT i ssuposed to but don't end killing the suspects as consequences of that are dire for cops.

    5. Straight out Murder! These pukes were "amped" & the "Wyatt Earp Syndrome" took over! FIRE & PROSECUTE! I am a Marine & former Police Officer, Federal & County......This is cold-blooded murder!

  5. A good cop in regular patrol gear could have handled this. Unfortunately this scene looks like poor training. Up to and including not calling for medical help right away. Also, if they want to play Army, they should have at least 1 medic per "squad" not just for the civilian but themselves. The guy was crazy. Sit there and starve him out if needed. Very sad. I feel sorry for any good cops on that department.

  6. what I really want to know is that if in the near future America's economy tanks, the US dollar collapses, our society begins to resemble Venezuela, and half of us on the net right now find ourselves homeless due to loss of employment, hyperinflation, eviction or foreclosure..... will the cops (who still have jobs, orders to follow and immunity) be as brutal to us veterans? Our wives and kids?

As the questionable use of force incidents by US law enforcement agencies that are exposed on the internet increase from the dozens, to the hundreds, to the thousands....is it getting easier for the cops to just say "fukk it" and stomp harder on any folks who give them a little push-back?

    1. THATS MY WORRY IN A NUTSHELL! everyone talks about this guy being crazy etc...but thats not an excuse. if you're a vet, retired or former military you already are halfway to being called a homegrown terrorist.

  7. An earlier video shows the first two LEOs on scene tried to NOT escalate things. As it dragged on, they called for help; which is really too bad because the 'help' made things way worse and murdered a man. Note that the shots are fired when the victim turns away uphill. Note they had non-lethal means and didn't use them first. The flash-bang was over the top; but afterwards how do you think a guy is going to obey commands? Also, the second cop shot in 'me, too' mode (LEOs have a name for that) and it was unnecessary. This whole thing was a cluster from the moment back up arrived and took over. As noted, they could have starved him out. They were impatient, poorly trained, and trigger happy.

  9. Henry county Ga. Some 11 year olds were building a fort when the lady in the next subdivison called the cops to complain.
The police arrived and immediately pulled his gun and screamed at the children to lie on the ground while sticking the gun in their faces.
    HENRY COUNTY, Ga. —
A fifth-grader says he was terrified when a police officer pointed a gun at him and his friends while they built a tree fort.
Omari Grant, 11, said he and his friends often play in a wooded area behind his home and were building a fort when a neighbor in the next subdivision called police to complain about what the boys were doing.
But no one anticipated what Omari and his mother say happened next.
"I guess the release of tension was like, ‘Mom, he had a gun in my face, Mommy. Mommy, he had a gun in my face,’" said Janice Baptiste, Omari’s mother.
Omari told Diamant that two officers, one with his gun drawn, rolled up on him and a few of his friends as they built a fort in the trees behind his home.
Omari said the officer holding his gun also used foul language and made him and his friends lay down on the ground.
    >WSB TV news<
The lady who called the cops was shocked by what the cops did, she was only concerned the boys would get injured while constructing their play fort. Instead she almost got the children shot by the cops.
The Police dept. refuses to name the police involved.

This shot by cops for little to no reason is getting more SS or SA by the day.

  10. In Scotland the guy would probably of either been forced to the ground and disarmed by the police or subdued with a taser or pepper spray. I doubt they'd of even called out an armed response unit to the incident.

I don't want to generalize here but to me it looks like some American cops overuse their guns, the situation in the video was excessive use of force and the situation outlined by Zebra was beyond crazy.

I don't know much about the practicality of this idea in America so don't jump on me, but what if you were to ask cops on safer or routine duties not to carry a gun and instead carry a taser? Or maybe leave it in their vehicle? You don't need a gun to deal with noisy kid or minor incidents and having one increases the risk of improper use.

  11. scot: For more look up Ruby Ridge, weavers and the wife shot by a gov sniper while simply standing on her porch holding a baby, yes they shot her, the dog and the boy who owned the dog killing all three.
All for what amounts to 1/8" too short a barrel on a shotgun.
