What is up with the Sapper Leaders Course?



Making my rounds around the interwebs and ran across the above video.  It does lead one to ask the question....what's up with the Sapper Leaders Course?  Why is it trying to be Ranger School lite when Ranger School is hurting for attendees?

    Because Sapper school requires all Sapper Instructors to be Ranger qualified.

    Because women can go to Sapper school and earn the Sapper tab.

    Ranger school has a greater emphasis on patrolling and traditional light infantry skills. Sapper school has an emphasis on assault engineer tasks, including fortification breaching and such.
