I have seen this before and I am still wondering what I should be impressed with on this. It is a "truck" that, from the looks of it, could not handle the slightest inperfection in terrain, is too light to provide any sort of protection, and barely hovers.
Isnt this supposed to be experimental that should give us an idea of things to come. This is a precursor to an unmanned logistical drone and an improvement of the remotely operated quad copter. This octocopter will someday become unmanned supply or troops dropship. So we should be impressed. :)
@Coffee Man. we should be impressed. this was a DARPA hard type build and these guys pulled it off. a truck that can fly? once they perfect it this will give all kinds of benefits!
@Unknown. totally agree. i don't see it operating in the same way though. i see it more as a medical evacuation vehicle or rescue craft. drives along at high speed and when encountering an obstacle it can take off.

I would hardly call this thing a truck. And sure...it flies with no passengers, no load, and from the looks of it made from very lightweight material.
ReplyDeleteI can get a masonary block to drive around and fly....
