Wow. Axe beat me to it. The drama at the Bundy Ranch...

I stated in a response to a previous post that I was going to write about the happenings at the Bundy Ranch and the infighting between the Militia and the Oath Keepers.

Well, looks like Axe beat me to it.

Its a pretty decent write up so no need to reinvent the wheel.  Read it here.  I will add however that if you associate with either Oath Keepers or a Militia that you need to scrub your internet tracks to the best of your ability, get your head down and stay down.

I AM WILLING TO BET BODY PARTS that both groups are under some pretty serious and sustained surveillance and that the activities of all members will be carefully scrutinized.

If you were one of the people that actually went to the Ranch?

My advice?

Sell all your firearms, get out of debt and get a good lawyer.  You will probably hear your front door getting kicked in or a blacked out SUV following you home and you getting proned out real soon.

I'm almost of the mind that this was all a setup.  A provocative act was committed by an obscure branch of Federal Law Enforcement, people bit on the bait and cells (mean that to be groups of Militia and Oath Keepers) were exposed.  Its really some clever counter intel stuff disguised as police work.

    1. yeah. i have to admit that i thought the guys out there would be more united but i guess not. most of them looked so out of shape that i'm surprised we didn't see a bunch of ambulances dealing with heat casualties. if the Feds are smart they'll go back in August when the heat is on and see how many show up then!

  2. To be honest I haven't followed it that closely. I am still trying to figure out how a tortoise that lived alongside vast herds of buffalo for tens of thousands of years is threatened by a few hundred head of smaller domestic cattle. And that there is the rub, it just doesn't sound real!

I was surprised by how many prominent members of the YouTube gun community (whatever that is!) went to the ranch. Really these commentators of the new media are low hanging fruit. It shows that many, if not most, if not all of the more extreme elements of the anti-federal movements in the US are amatuer. Very few freedom fighters through out history have been really proficient. Many just ride on the coat tails of the real intellects and hard men who act at the regime's centre of gravity at the right of time. Or better if there is popular support wait until that mass has removed the regime and then while they are still finding feet and uncertain act against them. It will be easier for the federal agencies to act internally that address the US's main domestic or near abroad security problem which is Mexico.

The difference between the Americans who want a return to small government and law under your Constitution, and the Mexican drug cartels? The are three main drivers with the latter that make all the difference; money, poverty, and fear. Though stripping away federal controls would bring about greater commercial freedom the returns are all hypothetical, all theory; unlike cold hard cash provided by the drug dealers. Many Americans are just too comfortable; yes there is poverty in the US but the vast majority though not rich, far from rich, are lot better off than say many Mexicans. Look at Canada and then look at which border gives you trouble. And lastly for all the concern about violence, whether it is criminal or concern from the Left over private gun ownership, there is relatively little in US society. All that goes of the window if there is a collapse. The minority in control will be just a minority. I think a lot of what we are seeing now are moves to remove opposition not to the status quo, but opposition to a much weakened controlling minority post collapse. The controlling minority sit probably on (comparative) huge war stocks most of which dates back to the Cold War and it will all be aging. I think they are scared for what purpose the 8.5 to 10 million semi-automatic rifles in military calibres in private hands post collapse could be used.

My tinfoil hat is starting to chafe....... :)

    1. yep. pure 100 percent amateur hour.

i'm surprised by some of the guys that did show up. mostly i'm surprised that Yeager went. the guy is suppose to be former law enforcement and military contractor....one of his buddies that went with him is suppose to be a former Marine.

they should know better and they should be able to tell what lines to cross and when. everyone is shouting that this is the first shots of the next civil war? don't think so. this was just a big snipe hunt that allowed some brainiac in the FBI's domestic terrorist desk to gather more info.

they're gonna get raided, its gonna be at night, its gonna be massive and its gonna be something to see.

  3. I wonder which group is going to rat the other out faster.

When the only qualification for joining is hating the gov't, it's going to attract nutjobs and people who you never want consort with, much less have them walking around armed. No discipline, no acknowledge of any sort of authority or command. As individuals, they might be smart, but together they are just a dumb mob.

    Drone strikes? puh-leeze. Tin-foil asshats.

  4. Compared with these guys, Occupy looks like the Roman Army in terms of organization

    1. its rumored that the Democrat party helped the Occupy Movement with organization as a counterweight to the right/libertarian Tea Party.

      is that true?

      i don't know but i can't rule it out.
