Thanks for the link Eric!
The good part is at the 4 minute mark.
The idea of being able to switch frames on a weapon to get you compact, mid sized and full sized weapons is genius! Sig is onto something here..

Similar trigger as the P250, you can use the grip for the P250 as well.I guess I don't see the allure of striker-fired.
ReplyDeletethe concept has me pumped up. the thought that one weapon can be flexed into full size, mid or compact just by switching out the frame is impressive modularity.
DeleteI felt the same way about the P250, but it laid an egg at first. I think SIG might have it figured out because the reviews I've heard make it seem like the 250 and 320 are back on track
DeleteSig fan checking in...
ReplyDeleteYes, if you are on a budget the ability to have multiple sized weapons from one serialized fire control seems cool. But you soon realize you still only have one gun (at a time).
Imagine a scenario where you are CCW'ing, there is an "incident" and the gun is taken. What now? Or another scenario where someone in your household needs a weapon at the same time as you? Or that FCU goes down?
This is why I think it makes sense to just buy a second weapon. For me, that's a combination of P226/P239. If things are "bad," I will have the P226 and the P239 fits the smaller female hands in my household.
SIG fan here as well. My P226 turned 20 last September. This year, it will be old enough to drink.
DeleteI am breaking in a SP2022 (two mags I purchased are a giving me ftf headaches and one is out of spec, since it won't fit flush).
SIG used to be the standard until those Kimber clowns took-over. Quality suffered as a result. It was a better product when there were only six handguns offered and it was German. It sounds as though they are realizing quality control more than just PR.
The SIG P250 and P320, while not traditional SIGs, are looking attractive, but I will have to wait to see if they have the kinks worked out. The SIG P250 weren't all that impressive and there were QC issues, but it seems they have been worked out.
