Your Sunday "WTF" Moment....

Consider this your Sunday what the fuck moment....

China.  The country that steals our tech and our jobs, bullies it neighbors and has cheated its way to a powerful economy is getting foreign aid from the United States and European countries.

Yeah.  Check this out from the Huffington Post (its 2013 article)...
The United States provided $28.3 million in foreign assistance and funding programs to China via USAID and the State Department in 2012, according to a May report from the Congressional Research Service. It projects that number to decrease slightly in 2013, to $25.5 million. Roughly half of the U.S. funding is administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which focuses on four main areas in China: environmental protection, rule of law, HIV/AIDS, and sustainable development for Tibetans.
Read the article here.

Don't believe that article?  Then check this one out from the Boston Globe or this one from FoxNews.  Its all a joke and the American people are the punchline.  The struggle is to maintain the current system at any costs, and this aid is proof of that.  It won't work and we're seeing signs of economic collapse all around us.

  1. The role of aid is not always what is said. Aid has been a tool for US foreign ministry to achieve its objectives abroad. http://www.sunday-guardian.com/news/obama-quietly-reverses-hillarys-get-modi-policy.

  2. The charitable explanation would be, as Samar suggests, cover for our government to (ahem) be talking to people inside China. The more likely explanation is it is another bureaucrat's program protection racket.

  3. Lol, you should read the list of countries that the UK gives aid to. Uganda, in 2010 we gave them £11M. The same year the president buys himself a £9m private jet.

  4. I wouldn't count USAID as 'aid' as these things are very often used for inteligence gathering purposes or worse for subversive action ect.

You remember US vacination program in Pakistan ,that led to Bin laden .
That was no aid project and due to back lash demonized vaciantions that led to reaperance of diseases that are normally easily controled with vacinations ,child paralisys ect.

So i am a bit suprized that USAID affiliated personel are not shoot first asked questions later more often as they have a really bad rep .

  6. In China's defense, those are stuffs on which the Chinese government doesn't feel it needs to spend money on but the Americans are doing for their own reasons.

    - environmental protection : I don't know where the US is spending money on, but it can't be anything substantial.
    - rule of law : The Chinese government feels this is a US propaganda designed to undermine the communist rule.
    - HIV/AIDS : The communist party doesn't care because they have 1.6 billion people and losing a couple millions is nothing to them. AIDS actually contributes to China's population control effort.
    - sustainable development for Tibetans : The communist party wants the Tibetans weakens and eradicated, not "developed"

  7. Yes -- when you see "USAID" then think "US-CIA."
In China, it's basically to fund dissidents in Xinjiang and Tibet.
Most recently, look at Venezuela and Ukraine for the results of this policy.

Sometimes it backfires. Working with Qatar, the US shipped a lot of arms to Libya when Gaddafi went rogue, then later in Benghazi State/CIA shipped arms including Stingers to Syria via Turkey (Ambassador Stevens got burned on that) and now somebody wrote a book that claims that helpful Qatar (also on Bergdahl) has provided Taliban with Stinger. Story here.

Oh what tangled webs we weave.
