As I was in our beloved Corps for 21 years with 6 1/2 years sea time, and currently work in the ship repair industry, I have seen the "I Believe's" first hand. Too many years of being the biggest kid on the block. Do not get me wrong, we are still the toughest on the block, but we are older now and the bloody lessons learned are fading into a distance only to be pulled out, polished up, and commerated once a year.
What is the cure? I shudder at the thought.
I can say that I have a job due to the Navy's lack of maintenance capability.
