Could we do a BMX-01 to our MTVR's?

Time to face facts boys and girls.

The ACV1.1 or MPC (as it should properly be called) is months if not years away.  In the meantime and between time we're going to need better protected transport for our forces ashore.

Is it possible to rapidly develop a protected troop transport based on the MTVR in the same way as Nexter has taken a truck body and developed the  BMX-01?

I hope so, because as things stand now Marine Armor is in shit shape.

  1. If FNSS can do this with the M-113,why is it that the US armed forces dont follow a similar path?http://youtu.be/5IR-l3JMyu0?list=UUedHRYUKMiE4xMYwvVAhIAQ

  2. The M-ATV is already based on the MTVR, making an APC variant shouldn't be that complex, but You already have the Navistar MaxxPro Dash XM that fits the role of protected personnel carrier with "not so bad" mobility. The BMX is just a demonstrator probably based on Sherpa 6x6 trucks (Renault Trucks Defence). Nexter has the Titus 6x6 based on Tatra High Mobility Trucks with swing-axles seems which seemes to me to be more interesting especially when fitted with ARX 20mm weapon station.

  3. They better think faster because Russian gov. is pretty sure that Ukraine, NATO, CIA and Crimean Tatars will invade Motherland next year. So, Marines need some equipment to move from the beaches.
