ReplyDeleteFrom what we see russian copter operators use swooping and diving attacks which enable maximum aplication of firepower (cannon ,rockets fire) use but are also much more exposed to enemy fire than stand off fire using 40+k$ guided missiles
ReplyDeleteMi-28 is very heavily armored compared to any other helicopter ,crew is protected all round while other gunships only have armored glass in front. But that comes at a cost of visibility https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Fj9hdmEeBY
Marine Corps never got away from this, we still practice it constantly
