Norinco Armour Day 2014

  1. It's is not frenzy and will not tear your ass off... but it can be a perfect choice for less developed nations. Simple, reliable, relatively modern and cheap. I think we will see in near future how Dragon will push from the stage Russia as successful weapons dealer. Bear is unable to provide reliable and easy to maintenance weapons anymore so it;s highly possible that Dragon will take his place.

  2. I like the truck in this video. Lets field a whole MEU with this stuff. I bet they would do well. And, have a smaller logistical tail.

  3. Was tempted to buy a Norinco pistol years ago. Just out of curiosity.

    1. i once took great comfort in the fact that our gear was superior on a one for one basis and then it stuck me. so were German tanks in WW2. then i remembered the talk about how individually the M-60 could stand toe to toe with T-64's (utter bullshit) but that there would be at least twice as many Soviet tanks as the US and its allies had.

now fast forward to the Chinese. their tanks might be crappy individually but quantity has a quality all its own.

    2. They are not that crap anymore, maybe not top notch but not crap also. Do this tank can go H2H with Leo or Abrams or the Mighty Merkava? Nope... But do all of those fine machines can go H2H with 10 of Chinese tanks... you can answer this yourself.

    3. The US and USSR won WWII with large numbers of simple, reliable designs (Sherman and T-34) that were technically inferior to the best German tanks, but which were much more practical.

We seem to have forgotten that lesson.

    4. If I can produce a tank that's 80% as effective as yours at one-fifth the price, I win.

    5. Think about this fact when it comes to armored vehicles. In 1991, 23 years ago, we watched M1A1 Abrams destroying T-72s, BMP-1s, and BTRs while on the move at 2000 meters or longer. Additionally every tank could be tracked by a GPS tracking systems that enabled the commander to see where every tank was located in the division HQ. And they could do this day or night.

This was thanks to the modern electronics of 1991. Think of what computer you were using in 1991 and think of what is available now. An iPhone6, built in China, has a far better processor, screen and software than anything America could produce in 1991. Also that iPhone6, built in China, is going to require a thousandths of the size, weight and power of the American electronics of 1991.

Has armored warfare really evolved that much from 1991?

    6. With exception of some electronic gadgets... armored warfare did not evolve from the 1940's
