  1. I'm just a layman here, but is that a crow's nest on a tank??

    1. The K2 tank is designed to cross all North Korean rivers unassisted, so that they could reach Pyongyang in three days. Ditto for the K21 IFV.

  2. Wouldn't they have been better off building just a regular periscope? Something like the baby G-Boss on a periscope? Any tankers wanna weigh in on the usefulness of that?

    1. From wikipedia

"This tube is then fitted to the crew commander's hatch and provides air and an escape route for the crew. The height of the tube is limited to around three meters."

  3. are they called periscopes? i know they're deep fording kits but have no idea what they're called. kinda impractical in my opinion. by the time you do a survey of both banks, send divers to check the path the tanks will take across the water obstacle and such you could have done a much easier bridging op.

    1. They are called Deep Water Fording Kits. Check out the video here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_wading
