The Scotland vote. I hope they break away!

I'm loving this Scottish independence vote.  I hope they're not blowing smoke and will actually break away from the UK.

Why?

Because I've noticed that every "world leader" is against their independence.

To me that's telling.

Additionally I see this as another sign that globalization is breaking down.  The EU is still stagnating economically.  The sanctions against Russia did nothing and will probably be blamed for a recession on that continent.  London is a major hub for this fraudulent world banking system...and it has the added benefit of throwing British defense plans into total chaos, thereby forcing the Brits to stop pretending that they're a world power and to finally deal with the social programs, immigration issues and weird defense spending that has been plaguing them for so long.

Last, a vote for independence will probably have knock on effects around the world.

I say bring on the pain!  Bring on the misery!  Pass the popcorn, if they separate from the UK this will be fun to watch.

  2. The economic implications of a breakaway only favor the UK. Scotland has nothing to gain.. they have the highest amount of people on the dole and rely on dwindling oil from the north sea to pay for their public sector. This is put an unnecessarily high burden on the UK tax system, Two of the largest scottish banks have already said they would move south of the boarder if Scotland breaks away. Good riddance.

Look at those maps. Scotland generates almost as much GDP, per-capita, as England does. But their wealth flows down to southern England (London) instead of staying in Scotland.

If I were a Scot, I'd want out too.

    2. Where did you come up with that? the dailymail?

Scots pay in more than they receive as far as services go. And you have it all backwards: practically the scots have more to gain, and the UK has more to lose. Why do you suppose they're squealing like pigs over the entire thing?

  3. You get that the leadership of Scotland, primarily the SNP, views Castro and Stalin as conservative anti-revolutionary pussies by comparison?

The only thing independence will bring will be to make the Britain left behind a big step closer to irrelevance, while inserting a future failed state on the order of Zimbabwe, Argentina, or Bangladesh onto their northern border. The inevitable result will be refugee status after the predictable and forthcoming Scottish economic collapse when the Scots have to spend their own money rather than other peoples', and perennial status as the Mexicans of Britain. Brits will love this, as they'd rather hire Wee Jock McPlop rather than Gunga Din, and the Irish, having held that mantel for some centuries, will gladly pass it on.

The worthy oriental gentlemen in England may view the loss of employment and income in a somewhat less sanguine manner, and their jihadi sons even less so.

It'll be fun to watch, provided one stays far from the cauldron.

But the dawning realization of even the Scots has been no small part of the last inning stall of the idea, and may lead to it going down to defeat by a narrow (or not so narrow) margin.

  4. I would argue that this is not a vote against globalization but for it.

Scottland believes that they can use all of the benefits of globalization and without the need to listen what the English say about anything. The greatest danger to a sovereign nation is invasion and conquest by a foreign power. Scotland has nothing to fear on that front and is tired of the English telling them they cannot be more left than they currently are.

The benefits of globalization all favor Scotland breaking away. China screws you over on a contract? Take it to the WTO, and EU. Pirates kidnap Scottish sailors off Somalia? Call the US and we might call an Iranian warhship to rescue them if the Iranian ship is the closest member of that combined task force. But there is no need for the Scots to go it alone thanks to the benefits of globalization.

    2. i totally disagree. you're looking at this thing militarily. take a step back and examine it through economic and social upheaval lenses. the results should be shocking. no longer is the threat external, its internal. i contend that the roiling middle east is simply the results of economic despair. are the reacting maturely? not at all. but if you view economic instability, the absolute hording of economic power in the hands of either strongmen or royal families then you can see how that two tier system of rich and poor can lead to a bigger threat than invasion. you instead face the prospect of social upheaval and revolution.

just take a look at the chinese! why are they pushing a nationalistic agenda? because it takes the masses eyes off their own disastisfaction with the govt! i think the same thing is going on in the US but instead social, racial and gossip pages are used as the distraction.

HOW ELSE CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE FACT THAT ONLY 23% OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE SATISFIED WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE GOVT BUT WE'RE NOT HAVING NEW STORY AFTER NEWS STORY TALKING ABOUT THAT! INSTEAD THE FOCUS IS ON THE NFL!

mark my words gents. this system is breaking down. the manufacturer of the world is slowing down (china). the powerhouse of europe (germany) is in recession and the US is simply staggering ahead.

this ain't gonna last much longer and the results of the machine crashing is gonna be fun to watch.

  5. Solomon said: "...if they separate from the UK this will be fun to watch..."

Sure thing Solomon! It will be much fun to watch RAF bombers release GBUs on residential areas over Scotland. Oh, by the way according to the Global Research News, Tony Blair who is the former UK prime minister between 1997 and 2007 has urged the UK government to consider military action – including the use of the Trident independent nuclear deterrent – against Scottish strategic targets in the event of a "Yes" vote for independence next Thursday. Mr Blair said that he hoped Scots would vote against independence, but warned that if Scotland voted to break up the United Kingdom then military intervention would be inevitable: “Obviously I hope that Scotland votes to stay part of the United Kingdom. But Scotland should prepare itself for a full-scale invasion by ground forces if it doesn’t.” he said. Lets also keep in mind that Tony Blair is tacitly supportive of the Kiev regime’s airstrikes against civilians.

So, I if our NATO countries tacitly support Kiev goverment to release weapons on Ukraine citizens asking to separate, why not to support UK forces to bomb Scottish targets? Hmmm...

    1. i've heard no such thing! evidence please! something like that being said by Tony Blair or Cameron would be headline news all over the planet and would GUARANTEE a vote to leave.

  7. Sat here in the south of England at the moment the thought of Scotland leaving the Union is terrible to behold. I think they will stay in the Union but it's going to be very close indeed. Would the Union be deminished? Of course. But! The rest of the Union would be resurgent after casting away Scotland. They cost the treasury a lot of money and their oil is running out so apart from the emotional argument, it would not be the end of the world for England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Oh yes, and we will still have our nukes intact which pretty much means we can do what the fu*k we like. As we mature from the American century into a Sino-South American one this will be a timely reminder of just who your friends are.......discuss!

    1. nukes intact? we're developing new missile subs and you guys are struggling to get it done. in 10 years the UK will be nuclear free. you'll say that its to make the world a safer place but the reality is you won't be able to afford it. a sino-s. american century? bullshit and you know it. the only powerhouse in s. america is brazil and they're struggling too. china has its own problems (that it created) and all of asia is about to rise up and challenge it. the more it struggles the worse it will get.

oh and scotland will be the beginning of the troubles. northern ireland will leave too...wales will probably stay but it'll be close....and that oil will continue to flow for scotland because of new drilling techniques.

the uk is screwed and its gonna be fun! i can't wait...i just hope those bastards don't get cold feet.

    2. LOL if scotland is screwed because of oil, so is England. Their entire welfare state is dependent on oil revenues like other european welfare states.

    3. Haha! Spoken like a true American idiot! You know you have a feckless Uncle Tom president and you know that your world standing as a nation as never been lower! Women Rangers, women Marines......Oh dear Sol, the Chinese are laughing at you! They have your nation in the palm of their hands and you just roll over and ask them to tickle your bellies. What you don't realise is that they may have technology that allows you to drill for oil down the toilet but if the oil 'aint there.....well, it 'aint there. It's a zero sum game - nothing equals nothing!

  8. And the baseless UK bashing continues

We aren't struggling with anything in regards to the Vanguard Successor program, the development process is on track to deliver a finished design sometime in 2016 in time for the political leadership of the moment to make a choice on what exactly the plan will be.
But its not an amazingly pressing issue we can afford to delay construction for a few years while the politicians argue over pointless minutia due to the fact that Vanguard herself was laid down a good three years after the oldest of the Ohios still operating as an SSBN was launched. they are still young boats and have plenty of life left in them.

Claiming that Northern Ireland will leave to shows that you have a complete lack of understanding of the situation there.

I know you really, really, really want to see the UK disintegrate into a third world shit hole so that you can cackle with glee but didn't your mother ever tell you that wanting something doesn't make it so?
