Good looking ship. However I've got to question why the RN opted for the 20mm Phalanx over the 30mm Goalkeeper system which they fitted to several other classes.
It has to be red, the national symbol of the red dragon of Wales, the ship's adoptive city/country. Being black or dark grey although more tactical does't portray the same message.
Good to see that the MoD relented and allowed the dragon art to be restored now that shes in active service.

ReplyDeleteThe Phalanx can engage supersonic anti-ship missiles better than the Goalkeeper.
DeleteI wish it wasn't bright red, they could have opted for a more matte black look that didn't look so cheesy and out of place.....

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it makes me think Chinese as well as cheap, tacky and runing the low-visibility paint-scheme.
