A US military aircraft has crashed in a field near houses and a school in Lincolnshire.
Witnesses saw the F-15 come down in a field off Broad Gate, Weston Hills, near Spalding at about 15:30 BST.
The pilot is believed to have ejected from the aircraft and police say he has escaped with very minor injuries.
The US Air Force said the F-15 from was from the 48th Fighter Wing based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk and had crashed during a training exercise.
And the hits keep coming.

  1. The pilot abandoned the aircraft while it was still flying and pointing towards a school and houses, I don't know what the situation was but I don't think RAF Lakenheath has much of a future.

  2. It was an F-15D, and Lakenheaths F-15C/D was on the chopping block till the Ukrainian issues started.

As to the base closing all the support for MoldyHole are at Lakenheath. Schools, Commissary, BX, Hospital, most of the housing. The wing may go, but the base will not close unless both of them are closed.
