Note: When the Constellation program was "reconfigured" and given the new mission of landing on an asteroid (I still don't get that...the moon is a stable source of everything we could get from asteroids...its like they just wanted to do something different instead of actually harvesting resources) instead of the moon, alot of work had been thrown away with the blink of an eye. Exhibit number one is the Altair Lunar Lander. Its just like the Orion space capsule. A step back to the work that was proposed for the follow on to Apollo by the greats that put us on the moon. Notice that they chose an evolutionary path instead of seeking to be revolutionary. The US military should take note.

ReplyDeleteNASA does things in space for the novelty of it. Other nations are currently focused on actually getting important things done.
ReplyDeletewho is trying to get important stuff done? Russia? they're living off the fact that we don't have a launcher (currently) to get our guys into space. China? they've bought Russian gear and are taking baby steps into space. India? same. The EU? please! they have more concepts than NASA and Deviant Art and still don't have an independent manned space program....the Brazilians are more serious.
Deleteso please tell me. who is more serious about space than NASA again? oh and that's not even counting the USAF space program. as much as i love to hate on them, they're doing work when it comes to space and the national defense...as are others. SO DROP THE USA HATE! we've definitely fucked up but we're doing more than almost everyone else combined.
