French Counter Terrorism Teams prepare to assault pics.
Thanks to Hecate for the pics. Note: Info is trickling in but these are the first pics of French Counter Terrorism Police getting ready to storm the terrorist hide outs.
still wondering why the terrorist planner dont include IED in their attacks... if i recall, the solo breivik can get explosives and weapons for his rampage , and he is a lone gunman with no help from others..
France and most of Europe don't have the death penalty anymore.....I am a bit surprised that they took him alive, not expecting the other two to give themselves up, I expect them to go down in a "blaze of glory".....good riddance if they do.
In Europe Police are not meant to judge and jury so even in Swat type takedowns suspects are rarely shot. Unlike in US were cops rutinelly kill people out of fear .
Remember Boston Bombers in Europe most of those cops that shot up that boat would be out of their jobs and/or face serious reprimands in US they probably get commendations for being trigger happy inept fraidy cats.
More than a few media sources are carrying the story that the youngest was arrested. Not sure about the other two, one was a pretty bad guy, was arrested before and was sending guys to Syria. No mention so far if he had trained/fought in Syria himself.....
Yeah I had just gone to sleep when I got a wake-up call: youngest alleged attacker arrested. No confirmation though about NBC story according to which US counter-terrorism sources announced one terrorist dead ... Does NBC pay for such info ?? Well here's another one : apparently the younger of the three terrorists gave up when French police tricked him into thinking a full on invasion by the German army was underway ... He surrendered immediately ! nothing as great as well lead psy-ops ... ;-) ... Back to bed
Can someone provide a better resolution picture of those "curved" shields in the second picture ? Are those really curved shields, balistic blankets or what ?
Just came out of a meeting with update on situation (all public info), but this is really turning into something interesting: - several people taken into custody after last night's raids, but the two main suspects remain at large - the third suspect arrested or has given up At we were speaking, news came in of another shoot-out in the south of Paris this time, details a bit sketchy at the moment, but it seems a man with a bulletproof vest and armed with an MP5 has shot down two local cops near "porte de chatillon" subway station. He has been arrested and isn't either of the two men named in yesterday's attacks. Don't know about his background but he has a "French sounding" name. In the Lyon area, 200 miles south east of Paris, which is known for its right wing radicals scene, a mosque has been blown up last night. Accident unlikely according to first police reports ... so we might see an escalation, as had been warned about, with more attackers/lunatics coming out of the woods, but possibly also first signs of retaliation ... wonder where this is going.
