Is Russia signalling that its getting into the terror game?

Thanks to Shas for the link.

Major Russian TV network says US intelligence carried out the Charlie Hebdo attack via
You ever see something that makes you immediately say WTF! followed by what is the game being played here?

The above did it for me.

I couldn't figure out what this could be about.  Russia is facing the same Islamic Terrorist Threat that the rest of the West is.

But then I took a step back in my Wayback Machine and discovered something troubling.  Supposedly the Soviet Union sponsored such groups during the cold war.  Could they be making a play to crush Chechen separatist at home while stirring the pot in the Middle East, while at the same time arming these groups covertly?

Yeah, it might be a step too far but I can't think of anything else.  What do you think the motivation for this could be?  I'm stumped.

Could Russia be getting in the terror game?

  1. Well Soviet Union did support different "movements" in Europe in the global game with US in times of Cold War. But this would be more in the political fiction books department.

But in last decade I start to see those that time books scenarios in real life... hell even thinking about that send shivers up my spine.

  2. No. Just the Putin propaganda machine going overtime. They have "experts" who blame us for every world event from Ukraine to radical Islam. Take a look at this. http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/how-the-truth-is-made-at-russia-today#.laaOLBkedk or this http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/01/putin-russia-tv-113960_Page3.html#.VK_z0St4pK0

  3. Do you actually left the terror game? They have always had a finger in European terror groups, and it appears at the moment that Russia is making contact with the European fascists. In this specific case, it is not Russian involvement, what you are seeing is classic Dezinformatsiya--disinformation and misdirection to embarrass the USA. They know the European hard-left is upset about the French attacks as everyone else, and wants to keep them out of the influence of anti-terrorists organizations which tend to support the US war on terror. If the Left and Right unify against the Islamic Extremists then there may be a call for increased NATO military power, which could then pose a threat to Russian armed expansion. They need NATO weak with the US and Europe split as much as possible. All those years of Russian chess champions aren't a coincidence. Misdirection and thinking ahead is al part of the game.

    3. When some time passes, and we see who actually benefits from these attacks, we'll be better able to see the actual connections to this or that primary actor. Right now it's too soon, and we can only see the pawns on the chess board.

Remember though, that there's always a higher level of strategy involved. Whatever you think you know, take a step back and re-examine your assumptions as you follow the strings up from one puppet to the puppet above.

At first, France government is obviously a beneficiary –after such events greatly more possibilities to manipulate people appear. The president appeared too fast on the place – and it was too fishily dangerous – time-bombs on the accident’s place – regular terrorists practice – to hit investigation team and other LEOs.
At the second, USA is an advantage – French will be more compliant for USA’s influence in exchange for some “anti-terror” measures. And more of this – if EU falls because of xenophobic tensions and disorders it will be great pleasure for USA (and Russia as well) – one global competitor less.
At the third, Russia in advantage too – from France can be started effective anti-EU campaign, ruled by Russia-bankrolled politicians like Le Pen.

It is a google translation with my correct - an article in Russian Gazette – an official Russian paper were laws are officially published.
      http://www.rg.ru/2014/11/23/partiya-site-anons.html
Party "National Front" Marine Le Pen obtained a loan in a Russian bank. According to French media, the funds received in the first Russian-Czech banks at the rate of six per cent.
This is the sum of nine million euros. According to local media, "National Front" in anticipation of the upcoming party congress already listed the first tranche in the amount of two million euros. This information was confirmed by Le Pen closest advisors.
"None (French) bank does not want to give us a penny. I contacted a number of French and European banks, and everywhere heard negative responses. And then I turned to US financial institutions, Spain and Russia," - said the “Mediapart” paper, which first unveiled this information, the nationalists’ treasurer Vallerand de Saint-Just, explaining why the party retained the services of the bank, based in Russia. "This is perfectly normal and it is common practice to borrow abroad," - says the party treasurer.
By the way, in October itself Le Pen, according to many polls, is a favorite of the presidential race, regrets that among the national banks do not have institutions that have agreed to fund her campaign.
The Congress party "National Front" opens next Saturday in the conference center of Lyon.

  4. Sol, I don't know what to make of the headline you posted but there is something you might consider called Operation 'Gladio' where western intelligence, rather than simply setting up a 'stay behind' military force in Europe, masqueraded as the enemy in order to vilify socialist and communist movements during the Cold War. These actions helped strengthen support behind the Governments of Western Europe. After the Cold War this operation changed its focus towards using Islamists through Turkish contacts (and was labeled Gladio B by the FBI according to whistleblower Sibel Edmonds). I'm sure people will jump on this and give you the official line, that this is all hype, but you should make up your own mind after taking a look around the net and see what has been aired. There are books on this topic and there are a few recent independent media entries on You Tube, plus there is the BBCs three-part doco from the early 90s that spilled the beans on the Cold War op.

Anyway, in relation to Russia, I can give you one link that covers likely CIA involvement in the War in Chechnya. The clip is titled 'Who is Graham Fuller?' This should be a reminder of the CIA's involvement in all manner of questionable actions (IMHO). If the Russians are getting into the terror game, then they have a lot of catching up to do:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlFhBrMaMsc

Please watch the clip before making any judgements. And please note that I'm also not assuming anything in relation to what happened in Paris. The material mentioned here is just something to consider.

    1. Finaly some one with some senese . Even in cold war days USSR spent a fraction of $$ US and Nato partners did supporting terror groups.

Remember Iran-Contra how money was used to support terrorists groups in South America

      http://www.chomsky.info/articles/199112--02.htm

Remember who were the first terrorist in Middle east Israel ,first against the British but later against others
First Airliner taken was Syrian Airlines 1954 ,Shot down of Egyptian civilian liner 1956 ,Libiyan Ailine plane shot down in 1973

Lets go back to US Blowing up of Air India 1980 cca330dead terrorists were trained in Alabama .

If you go and count all the terror acts adn death resulting from the 1950 to present US is leaps ahead in first place as the terroroist enabler ,flowed by Israel and Saudi Arabia (considering that 9/11 was Saudi run ) flowed by Pakistan only way down in bodycount probably Libiya and flowed by rest of the middle east ,Russia is to home centric their biggest projects happen on their soil to bolster the ruling elite Putin rose to power on bombing of apartment complexes.

On Afghanistan, Zbigniew Brzezinski was later asked about it.
Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?
B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

    1. It looks like Russia will return the debt with high interest as well -sooner or later-via some playing with Ukrainian Nazis. Ukrainians now await how Westernian wizards rescue all Ukraine and organize them Western-style life there. It will never happen, and lost dreams establish good ground for manipulations – so Nazi can easily recall that their national Hero – Bandera- killed not only Russians but Polish as well. As a variant.

    2. Yes. Ukraine is not a valid U.S. security interest, but now the U.S. has stupidly made it a U.S. political matter, and yes, Russia is in control there, as it should be because Ukraine IS in Russia's security interest. Another pawn (Ukraine) falls in the great game.

    3. @but now the U.S. has stupidly made it a U.S. political matter@
I beg to differ, sir. “Ukraine” – is a great success for USG (IMHO, of course). For me it is internal conflicts – Russians kill Russians on Ukraine instead of playing cooperation. South Stream lost, Ukraine-Russia Industrial cooperation lost, and the main – it will take a lot of all kinds of recourses from Russia, because economy is our weak point ever and Russia is going to focus on Ukraine problem first, second and third – and then USG can add Afghanistan-problem (Russia has a excellent choice – to keep lose about 10 000 (at least) people per a year because of Afghanistan drag-traffic or achieve all Afghanistan as a islamist’s nest), and – as a cherry on the top – ISIS in Central Asia. And after all this Happiness delivery to Russia USG will play their Great game in the pacific regions with keeping all tramps at hands.

  7. Motivation.

    1. Price of oil. Trouble in the ME is good for Russian bottom line
    2. Keep America distracted tied down. Trouble in the ME keeps the US occupied tied up.
    3. Empower the ole European right (not to be confused with US right, think Nationalist Socialist types) which Putin has been financing and leveraging. This is to both to sow unrest in the EU and help break EU up.

Not saying if I buy into this being Putin's doing, just that he is a old school KGB man and the motivation is there. Although the risk if Putin got caught helping the terrorist may just be to much though. If the terrorist are good at anything they are real good at sh*ting on everyone that is dum enough to support them. See Assad 03-11, Saudi Arabia pre 2001, Iran, Pakistan, the entire Sunni population from anywhere in the ME were the Islamist have had control for more than a week, etc..

I could see the motivation but I don't think this is Putin's work.

I do have a conspiracy to chew thou. How about Assad arming the Islamist in Syria. Roll with me. Assad was desperate to prove the rebels Islamist not worthy of US support.
    1. ISIS was the Iraq AQ branch that had strong ties to Assad/Iran 03-11.
    2. ISIS has only done minor peripheral battles with the Assad regime.
    3. ISIS captures a few lightly armed bases in the West that happened to be loaded to the gills with weapons which turned them from a minor threat to a major beater.
    4. ISIS then suddenly split with the other AQ Syria group Al Nursa fight a short civil war which is more a whos with whos not forces division, then make peace and turn full bore to the moderate western backed groups.
    5. ISIS secures the rear marshal areas in their ole stomping grounds of the ratlines leaving the actual war with Assad to the east to Nursa and remnants of the rebels
    6. ISIS attacks west back into Iraq solidifying Iraq's support against the Syrian rebels and enabling Iran to reenter Iraq as a savior redeeming their blood soaked record of supporting both radical sides in a bloody attempted sectarian war.

    Syria/Iran motivations.
    1. label the Syrian rebels Islamist enemies of the west
    2. destroy the rear marshaling areas of the rebels
    3. destabilize radicalize Iraq
    4. represent Iran as the protector of Shia in Iraq.
    5. legitimatize rehab the radical Shia groups who had been discredited and crushed by the US and then the Iraqi gov.

    1. your scenario about the end game of Syria arming the rebels is playing out right before our eyes. i don't know if Assad is smart enough to have gamed it all out though. he seems more like the pampered prince thats been given a nation that he is scared to lose. i don't see him thinking tactically much less strategically.

    2. What are you smoking seriously ISIS supported by Iran and Assad . You know if you wrote ISIS is funded by OPEC or NATO(considering Turkey is one on the main supporters of ISIS) you would be at least in the ballpark.
As for ISIS not engaging Assad as much other rebel groups if you had any idea you would know that in many cases troughout WWII and cold war resistance groups fought other groups much of the time that is nothing new and/or cleverly planed out it always about getting control and attacking the soft target.

marine le pen who publicly supported russia's actions in ukraine (based on her statements and interviews, too many to link) will take this opportunity to further rock holande, who already against russia's position on ukraine

im sure most people here knew neither USA nor Russia nor other countires hace their hands clean when it come to supporting terroristm, armong / training terrorists cells, executing falseflags , for their own gain..

who is playing their terrorism card in france today ? US or Russia or other players? who will gain from hollande goverment's downfall ? funny how everyside using muslim as patsies , i pity the ordinary muslim people who keep getting bad press and HATE from immature western people... do one hate black peole because some radicals in exreme black movement killed people ? God forbid... do one hate white americans for the action of racist KKK ? no way.. These Intelligence agencies are expert in making conflict among racial , tribal and religious divide.. look at what british psyopa did in borneo during konfrontasi ? they pit the Dayak Tribe against the Chinese people there.. killing many innocent

i feel the same paranoia and irrational hate as with 9-11, many american back then tried to focus their hate on muslim, as if they are responsible in hijacking the planes... do one make war with the whole practicioner of a religion when a few extremist use that religion as an EXCUSE? do on wiped out christians because some terrorist used 'christianity' as an excuse ?

an appeal to common sense is necessary here.

  10. i lived and worked among muslims including some devout muslims, and they all loath the display of barbarity of ISIS and terrorist who killed civilians like those in pakistan.. these muslims here called those extremist as Takfiri , which means someone who misunderstood islam and use islam as an excuse to do anything they want, killing or raping or robbing , its all kosher/halal.. even against fellow muslims..

so do not lump islam and muslim people with the terrorist like some of the uninformed western media seem to foolishly want people to believed..

i am christian living in muslim country majority, and theres no persecution like muslims preventing christian to practice religion..

as for russia who currently against US economic attack , i pray for russia to be safe and protected during this hard time , against the incrediblly arrogant american goverment..

  11. here's a very good article from Kenneth Koff, ex US intelligence who certainly not a friend of putin, yet his analysis showed the flaws of current american polcy in russia..

    http://cnsnews.com/commentary/kenneth-kopf/russia-sanctions-ill-planned-ill-timed-and-foolhardy

While Putin’s naked, unjustified and illegal land grab by the use of military force, the current approach by the Obama administration is feckless, ill-advised, and impotent. Such policy could very well give impetus to Putin to expand Russian influence and control into former Soviet lands. Without a more comprehensive, focused and result-oriented approach, the collateral economic damage occurring to the world economies will be significant and long-lasting. Should the U.S. sanctions be intended to, or result in a collapse of the Russian economy (and the related non-Russia economies), it could trigger an inevitable political upheaval as well. With the current composition of the Duma and political and social fracturing, such sanctions could force Putin to make a political retreat to a less democratic path, or could result in an even less “open” replacement for Putin. An ill-formed U.S. sanctions policy could very well undo decades of world efforts to end the Cold War and further contribute to world-wide instability. In the apparent “new world norm” of terrorism, we do not need yet another military and economic adversary to watch.

I do the same, but it looks like you prefer Russia becomes an alternative to USA world’s superpower or at least concludes a military ally with China. Get aside my own terrors about my beloved ass – because my fillings how we would play global game again: blood and shit as usual. 18. the terrorists are just devout Muslims obeying the Koran.
I have no idea who you are, what country you are in or what religious affiliation is but what I would like to know is what medication or hallucinogen you are taking.

The Koran is NOT a religion of intolerance to other religion or sect (Sunni, Shia, etc.). The extremist came about because of the refusal to accept change, cultural differences and refusal to assimilate.

Have you gone to UAE and/or Abu Dhabi recently? Alcohol, banned in Koran, are openly sold there. How many devout Muslims openly eat pig meat? How many openly drink alcohol?

We can debate the merits of what is deemed "following to the full letter of the Holy Book" but the underlying question is this: Point out in the Koran that it is justified to kill people who do not share the same religion as Muslims and I will point out to you the open war between Sunni extremist and Shia extremist, who are considered are Muslims.

One of the biggest bonfire for extremist came out of Gaza and Palestine. Not all so-called "imams" are really who they are. How many people can call themselves "imams"? No accreditation. No proper background training. Anyone can call themselves an "imam" as long as they can memorize a dozen most-often-used lines from the Holy Book. THIS is how extremist came about. Blind men leading desperate men and filling up the mosque coffers. THIS is where extremism and how the Muslim religion have been re-written/re-translated to evil means.

I have lived with Muslims in the Philippines. During the Ramadan, they EAT during daytime. They drink alcohol OPENLY. They eat port (burgers and pork sausages). But they also go to the mosque religiously.

You, sir, are smoking pot. You, sir, are a load of horse-shit. You, sir, are a troll. As what one of the more sane bloggers here would say, please go back to your inept imam and tell him that you've failed. Epic fail.
