The only problem I see is that they didn't specifically say that they were steel reinforced. This looks like the AK magazine 2.0. Admittedly, it may drive down the prices of OEM magazines due to the volume that will definitely sell.
but do they need to be steel reinforced? i've often wondered about that. with modern polymers being so strong i would think that reinforcement wouldn't be necessary and the few ounces in weight saved would be an added bonus.
Possibly. But, the main question remains there. Will the lips break off if the magazine is loaded? I'm not necessarily worried about a drop to them unloaded, but the significant weight difference may create enough pressure to break them. Basically, the exact same worry and issue regarding all other mags and the main one behind the second variant of the Magpul AK magazine.
what is the difference compared to standart mags?
ReplyDeletelower price, easier to dismantle and maintain, but still having OEM reliability. or so Magpul says.
