Here is Schultz’s show monologue about “American Sniper”:Go here to read the entire article and to see Schultz's monologue.
“It humanized the struggle of soldiers returning from combat with post-traumatic stress disorder. It also serves as a harsh reminder that soldiers were sent to war under false pretense — at least, that’s how I took it.
The movie’s success might suggest that Americans are hungry for a hero in the never-ending fighting in the Middle East.
However the real Chris Kyle was far more complicated than the hero portrayed in Eastwood’s movie.
In his autobiography, Kyle described the enemy as ‘savages and despicably evil.’
Kyle said his ‘only regret is that he didn’t kill more.’ Kyle even described killing as ‘fun’ and something he ‘loved’ to do. Simply put: Kyle’s version of the Iraq war was black and white.
There was no room for humanizing Iraqis when he had his finger on the trigger.
To Kyle, if they weren’t Americans, they were the enemy. Unfortunately some of those feelings have spread into our culture.
The public reaction to the movie “American Sniper” also highlights some of the most disturbing consequences of this war: the normalization of Islamophobia and being one of them.
Personally I don't see a problem with Kyle's assessment of the enemy. I don't see any issue with the idea that sometimes you have to take a life to SAVE LIVES!
This is a perfect example of how the liberal elite fail to accept the reality of the world we live in.
Islamo-fascists....terrorists...or whatever you want to call them are bent on killing every American they meet. It doesn't care what your race, sex, religion or heritage happens to be. If you're an American they want you dead.
This type of thinking also explains why we have failed to achieve success in the Middle East. Fantasy trumps reality.
Sidenote: Is it just me or is this morphing from a movie critique into an assault on the character of a man who laid it on the line to defend this country. I'll be following this carefully. I'm leaning toward this being an assault on Chris, but I'll hold fire until I'm sure.
UPDATE: Seems that Moore is walking back some of his comments. Read what the arrogant, fat bastard, lying son of a bitch, dick sucking clown, shit eating mongrel has to say here.
Michael Moore did not say Snipers are cowards....his father did. He just said Invading under a false pretence was bad. But offcourse, the world did not have the benefit of knowing back then before the invasion that Iraqi WMD's did not exist.
ReplyDeleteparsing words? equivocating once it becomes obvious that words said in private are not accepted in public? sorry but that sorry fat ass bastard can eat shit and die. i don't accept your explanation. i refuse to accept his apology.
Deletehe can die and the world will benefit from his passing.
is that extreme? is it hatred? yeah and? i don't like the guy, i'm repulsed by everything he stands for and i have no time for him or his fellow travelers.
'nuff said.
But hey, atleast he liked the movie.
DeleteMichael Moore may not be saying snipers are cowards, but why would he highlight those words spoken by his father when discussing the movie? He's just a useless tub of lard and he knows he made a mistake.

ReplyDeleteThere was an interesting story on Canadian Global News last night. It was so quickly reported that it was almost like someone didn't really want it on the air. According to a Canadian Army spokesman, Canadian Special Forces had engaged ISIS militants in Iraq in a firefight. There was not much detail, and the army spokesman did not take any questions. The news anchor went on to say that the Canada Gov't says it does not have boots on the ground in Iraq.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction, was a huuhh? You just said we were engaged in a firefight. Anyway, I would not be surprised if we have deployed personnel from our JTF2 (Joint Task Force 2) special forces group to search out and locate ISIS forces for air strikes. These are the same guys that went in early in Afghanistan with US Special Forces and Navy Seals, while our Gov't denied they were there.
You'all have to read the book. I will be seeing the movie soon. Chris (god bless him) put his wife and family as less important than being a SEAL and the mission...by a long margin. Sad to say that. He was not perfect. With that. as a SEAL, he saved a lot of lives. Even going so far as stopping sniper duties at the battle of Fallujah II and doing unauthorized help for the USMC. He would observe USMC door kick downs and every other one a Marine would be carried out. With pure humility when he talked to a Marine boss on location he stated that SEALs are no better, just different, and in this case his team did a ton of work-up before that tour on door-kick-downs and room clearing. He spent time with them showing them some tips and tricks and even went through the door first on several efforts with the Marines. Again, just with that, he probably saved a lot of lives. Hell of a person. Read the book and decide. In the pajama-boy world, men like this are too few.
