Ukrainian News. Bellingcat Report provides "evidence" of Russian artillery fires into Ukraine.

Thanks to Galvars for the link.

via Bellingcat.

Read the entire report here.

I consider it eye opening and damn near conclusive proof of Russia firing into Ukraine.  I don't know who these boys are but they've provided information that the DoD surely has but isn't shared with the public.

These guys are definitely worth following.

  1. HK USP is the official side arm of the German Army designated as P8

  2. Not to say that the BW doesn't have some serious issues but all militaries train sometimes with less than the best. Training how to use an apc without a apc, clearing a room without a room, a truck on the LZ instead of helicopter, a truck with "TANK" written on it in giant letters during AT training, ect.
Aside from no blanks this wouldn't affect a laser simulator.

  3. I'm more worried about the 59% that are! lol.

What else are they carrying? MP40s?

This is stupid news though, likeJokuvaan said above, lots of armies train with "simulated" equipment, especially if you have to ship it to another country. Especially firearms in a regulated area, heaps more customs hassle + ammo as well.

And it really is such a good pedigree for a news report. An English report on a Russian newspaper quoting a German newspaper. Must have one hell of a translator.

  4. And the sense was lost in that translation... or it is another RT "news".

Btw: you know that Russians try to "prove" that Sasha Grey (yep, that Sasha) died in Ukraine, where she was a nurse for seppos and was killed (very precise way how ect.) by hands of "evil" Ukrainians. It's look like she is one of many celebrates that fight and die there... but they just did not get the memo form Russia that they are dead now. :D

  5. Reminds me of the news back in 2008 about the lack of physical fitness in the German Army.

  6. Thing is that with spread of NATO east much of Europe doesn't feel the need to maintain much of the military

  7. And that is the problem, they forget the old maxim "Si vis pacem, para bellum". Efficient and strong military is one of major pillar of every country stability. And peace don't last forever, weird that people in Europe so fast forget that... this continent is a war veteran.

Not weird but fundamentally stupid is an illusion that when NATO grown over couple of nations in central and eastern Europe the "old" members can be now safe because "new" members will protect them. If someone think that Baltic states can protect Germany... he need to visit proper medic, right now.

  9. Wile I agree Europe has been lacking in defence spending andf preparedness, I doubt very much this report is accurate. It may just be mistaken or it may be propaganda.

Secondly, wile Europe and to an extend the US are not as strong as they used to be, neither is Russia. They are trying to rebuild, but that equally a slow effort for them as it is for us. Wile they have a head start, they also came from a deeper pit.
As far as I can tell Russia would, of course, be capable of taking the whole of the Ukraine, but they would have a hard time KEEPING it, controlling it. This is also why I think Putin is not actually aiming at taking the whole of the country, by keeping it in limbo using mainly the Seps he can get his goal without having to commit huge armies.
I am not looking forwards to a confrontation between NATO and Russia, I hope and pray it wont happen, but it seems to me most people underestimate NATO wile overestimating Russia.
Maybe that is something the Russians as well as the pacifists over here want...

  10. LOL

They meant the P8, which is the designation for the HK USP9. and "Luger" I assume they meant as "9mm Luger" in relations to the caliber.

That is a cool ass name for the HK though. "P8 Luger".

  11. That would explain why 41% of German soldiers don't have them. :D
