LaVoy Finicum the true believer in the Oregon standoff that was killed ...

This guy.  This is the guy that intrigues me the most from the cast of characters at the Oregon standoff.  You can see a list and quick rundown of them here.

But Finicum is the guy that makes me wonder why he did it.  He was the father of 11 children...good kids he calls them in the video.  He was a rancher.  He appears to be a cowboy...a genuine cowboy, not the fakes you see running around Dallas.

So how did he morph from a family man into a guy that goes toe to toe with Federal Agents on a country backroad?  I thought I would get answers at his website (here), but all it did was deepen the mystery for me.

Why would a guy that had the most important things (a loving, caring family) throw it all away for a dubious cause?  The question is important because if we can't answer it then we'll see more and more people like him.
