Note:  Someone said that they didn't like the European amphibious ships on another thread.  I disagree.  I'm really really warming to the Mistral class and considering the operating concepts that the Marine Corps is pushing (dis-aggregated MEU's, distributed operations etc...) I'm wondering if we're building the right kind of ships.  The old New Wars Blog concept of smaller amphibs is probably the way to go.
