Turkish automaker Nurol Makina will introduce a new 4×4 light-armoured vehicle and armoured vehicle platform at the forthcoming 2017 International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2017), which will take place in Istanbul from May 09.

As per the state-owned Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency, the new 4×4 light-armoured vehicle – designated “NMS” – will weigh eight tons and have a payload of four tons. It will have independent suspension as well as a self-inflating central tire inflation system (CITS).

In terms of armour, Anadolu Agency reports that the NMS will withstand a TNT explosion of up to six kilograms under the chassis (which suggests the vehicle will comply with STANAG 4569 Level 2A/B).

Besides the NMS, Nurol Makina will also showcase its Ejder Kunter armoured personnel carrier (APC) platform. Based on customer requirements, the Ejder Kunter will be available in 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 forms. According to Anadolu Agency, the Ejder Kunter APC was based on the chassis of the Ejder Kunter truck.

Some 250 Nurol Makina Ejder Yalcin tactical vehicles are in service with the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Turkish law-enforcement agencies. The company secured its first Ejder Yalcin sale to a North African country (likely Tunisia) in March.

Nurol Makina is a company of the industry group Nurol Holding. Nurol Holding is also a 51% owner of FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş., a partnership with BAE Systems to develop and manufacture armoured solutions for the TSK and prospective export markets.

IDEF 2017 is coming.  That explains why we're getting a glut of new vehicles or modified/improved weapon systems.
