This is about to get good.
The Dept of Justice just announced that Robert Mueller is being appointed as Special Counsel to investigate the "Russia Incident".
You do get the force of connection here don't you?
This will solve Trump's problems nicely. In case you missed it, at the last Senate Hearing on this issue, the ranking Republican Senator stated that there is absolutely no evidence of Trump colluding with the Russians.
So if that's the case then why would Trump agree to Meuller being appointed?
My guess?
I think it's because Trump wants desperately to track down the leaks. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if tracking down the leaking of secret information pertaining to this case is part of his mandate.
Additionally this should help deconflict the war zone. The public will be satisfied. The Dems will think they've won but most importantly the moderates will be pleased. But it should knock the news of this Russia investigation off the front page. Mueller runs a tight ship. He won't leak, and he won't comment on the probe.
This whole thing will go underwater and the plotters are gonna have to pick a new line of attack. Meanwhile it will give Trump time to get his agenda on track.
The only thing that has me wondering is the timetable. These types of investigations can and do tend to drag on. Have they put him on a clock? If they have (say about an additional six to nine months) then this is almost perfect.
