The fight in the Philippines...they're using body counts as a measure of success?!

I get nervous when Defense Depts anywhere use body counts as a measure of success on the battlefield.

Even in COIN operations its a pretty dubious measure.

Ground taken, ground controlled and an enemy repulsed is much more accurate.  As things stand now it seems like both sides are pretty much getting hammered and both sides are viewing this as a fight to the death.

Body counts are not an objective.
