London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced a tough crackdown on knives Sunday as the city reels from a spike in stabbings that have led its number of homicides to top New York City's for two straight months.

He tweeted: “No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law.”

The tweet also included an action plan to boost police power and prevent future violence.

London has seen more than 50 homicides already in 2018.

Most of the city’s murder victims have been stabbed to death, as guns are tightly restricted in Britain and shootings are relatively rare.

If the bloody trend continues, London will far surpass the 130 murders in 2017 and reach a number not seen since the early 2000s.

Two things.  First this bastard tweeted this announcement?  Weird.  Trump's tweeting has caused me nothing but pain because that fucker never shuts up and now other politicians are doing it?  Simply amazing.

Second.  This dude is going full Nazi.  It's legal to carry an unlocking knife in the UK that is less than 3 in long.  Now?  Now they're about to stop and frisk based on it?  Additionally from my readings most of these attacks are carried out with kitchen knives!  Are they gonna somehow regulate kitchen utensils since their gun ban didn't stop homicides?

This is why I (we) say gun control is not about violence reduction it's about people control.  Humans have and will continue to hurt, injure and kill each other with whatever tool they have available.

London is the latest example of utopian fantasy run amok.

You can't change human nature.  What you can do is to punish those in society that violate our laws and toss away the key.
