Happy 4th of July...or rather Happy Independence Day.
Many wave the flag but I wonder if they're missing the true significance of this holiday.
On this day a group of people decided to act in an extreme form of rebellion, disobedience...whatever you want to call it.
They sought to break away from the most powerful "institution" of the day and to dare speak, think, and govern themselves.
The power of this day is beyond mere symbolism.
This is a day that changed the course of human events.
So my fellow Americans, revel in this, bathe in the glory of it and enjoy the day. But more importantly consider the meaning of it and think about the challenges that our nation faces today.
As titanic as they might seem they pale in comparison to have the stones to rebel against the crown and seek to establish a new country.
