LCX Landing Craft X missions...did they just invent a landing craft for over the horizon ship to shore?

Wow.

It's so obvious when you look at what they've done!  The brilliance is in its simplicity.  Why didn't anyone stumble onto this idea sooner.

CNIM has a winner.  If the Commandant doesn't have a couple of Colonels along with their Navy counterparts headed to CNIM then something's wrong!
