#TaskForceTrailblazer, 35th CAB and Coalition Forces launched an operation to hunt down ISIS. Had to look up the 35th CAB cause I had never heard of them. If my Google-foo is correct they're a National Guard outfit.
So what does this mean?
It means that numbers of troops in Syria are definitely closer to 4K or more than they are to a small Special Ops footprint.
The operation in Syria continues to concern and I don't see ANY end in sight. This means that even if the war in Afghanistan were to end tomorrow we've already involved ourselves in another quagmire that will probably last another decade.
Question.
Has any nation in the modern era been at war for more than 20 years? Can the US credibly sustain even this modest effort for another 5 or 10 years? What will it do to our military and is the so called "goal" worth the price?
I have no idea...I'm so far from having visibility on this issue that it boggles my mind but it concerns...and that concern is increasing daily....
