Officials put a positive spin on Warrior CSP at DVD 2018 in Sept, but delayed ISD to March 2023 and £200m cost growth is not good at all. That means the programme will now have run for 12 (!) years before first vehicles see service, and still no manufacture contract! pic.twitter.com/S5yLHpXzgr— grant turnbull (@GrantTurnbull_) November 8, 2018
Stick a fork in this puppy. Pushing a program this far to the right just means that it's dying a slow death...probably for political considerations (or a jacked up contract foisted on the govt by the manufacturer).
Regardless, this program actually made no sense to me. An upgrade to the ancient Warrior when you're bringing on the Boxer and Scout Ajax?
Perhaps this is good news.
The Brits really need to take a beat, orient themselves and rationalize their modernization programs. For such a small Army they have a bewildering number of different vehicle types. That needs to be fixed.
