Nitric oxide supplements (or NO supplements) have become very popular in the fitness and bodybuilding industry during the last several years, simply because they demonstrated an increase in lean muscle mass as well as endurance during intense exercise exercise.Story here.
Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid that is readily converted into nitric oxide inside the body, so scientists are constantly looking for compounds that can work together with arginine, to speed up or increase the NO synthesis in the body. Read more about the L-arginine benefits here : ‘the use of l-arginine supplements‘
A study published in the journal of sports science and medicine has found that vitamin C combined with arginine increases NO levels more than just arginine alone. Supposedly, vitamin C destroys free radicals that break down nitric oxide.
L-Arginine has been a staple of my supplement mix for quite awhile. Believe it or not its one of the things I credit for maintaining proper blood pressure levels while others are popping pills everyday to control it.
Ya'll know I try and hit the gym 5 to 6 days a week but after reading this I'll do like my momma said and get that Vitamin C in too. My pre-workout stack has changed. Vitamin C is part of the mix now. I'm gonna give it a try and hope you will too.
After a month we can compare notes!
