Iraqi security forces use live rounds on protesters in Baghdad— RT (@RT_com) November 8, 2019
Over 250 people have lost their lives in anti-government protests since they started in October, according to a report by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq pic.twitter.com/HXWjIzF1eH
This is another hot spot I've been monitoring but haven't commented on. Quite honestly it seemed...artificial to me. It certainly didn't have the worldwide implications of Hong Kong.
That might be changing.
Like I said I've been monitoring this event and while Security Forces have been accused of crossing the lines...using a bit more force than ordinary, things appear to be taking a huge turn toward the terrible.
They're openly using live rounds.
250 have been killed and for the most part these are undeniably peaceful protesters.
This almost looks like the prelude to intense sectarian violence. If that happens then you know this thing could crumble in a New York second.
This bears watching.
