Aircraft Compatibility Testing Begins Aboard USS Gerald R. Ford



ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 16, 2020) An E-2D Advanced Hawkeye assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 lands aboard USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) flight deck. The arrestment marked the first time an E-2D had landed aboard Ford. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
