“Deputies have learned that there is a general belief by some island residents that the Cripple Creek Residents are supposed to be quarantined because they came here from another state and could have COVID-19,” the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in Maine said in a Facebook post.

“Whether someone is a Maine resident or not, they have the right to free movement and anyone who infringes upon that free movement is potentially violating the law,” the post said.

The man and his two roommates have been living in Vinalhaven for about 30 days since coming from out-of-state, authorities said. Several towns in Maine have asked seasonal residents and outside visitors to self-quarantine to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Portland Press Herald reported.

Ya know to be actual and factual I can sympathize.  You can't understand this point of view (and I'm not saying its right...just that I understand it) of someone who lives in a rural community and then sees his area fill up with people that aren't from there, look down their noses at people that live there and then expect to be treated like kings even though common courtesy is beyond their understanding.

We've talked about this but quite honestly this is nothing if this outbreak continues for much longer.

You WILL have New Yorkers, New Orleanians, New Jersey-ites, etc...fleeing to rural areas and the reception they receive will be less than welcoming.

If they're found to be carrying the virus I can actually see structures being burned to keep it from spreading.

Two more weeks will be ok.  Another two months and its mad max deploy Marines onto the streets of America time...and even they better be up on their squad tactics.

Things go bad enough in the USA and what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq will look like child's play.

THIS IS NOT A HOPE but an honest appraisal of things.  Convince me I'm wrong.  I'm calling it now.  If this goes past April 30 then civil unrest WILL be the next crises we face.

Side note.  This is why the calls to "listen to scientist" irks me so much.  They're experts in a field of research but MOST don't know squat about human behavior.  This time Trump was right.  The cure could end up being as bad as the disease IF THEY DON'T DO THIS RIGHT!
