AH-1Z Viper helicopters from USS New Orleans conduct a live missile firing with Hellfire missiles during Large Scale Global Exercise 21

 

 VMM 265, @31stmeu, AH-1Z Viper helicopters from USS New Orleans conduct a live missile firing with Hellfire missiles during Large Scale Global Exercise 21 in the Western Pacific.

HMA Ships Canberra and Ballarat have arrived in the Western Pacific for the opening phase of the US-led Large Scale Global Exercise 21. Amphibious forces including United States Marines are embarked in Canberra, and a Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Poseidon maritime surveillance aircraft will be involved at various stages . Large Scale Global Exercise 21 provides the opportunity to continue to build strong operational relationship, which are the foundation for responding to shared security challenges. All activities will be conducted in a contactless environment, with strict COVID-19 safety measures in place to ensure the safety of all participants.
