If this is true then good! But expect a MASSIVE pushback, excessive moralizing and a squealing that we're gonna lose prestige by leaving.

Sidenote.  It's also political.  Biden can't get bogged down by Afghanistan if he extends the mission.  He will anyway but he's trying to rip the bandage off.  Funny.  Afghanistan is gonna cost him 2022 Congress AND his VP's re-election (as if she had any chance .... she's MIA during a crisis ... kinda sad).
