#OTD, the first African Americans to enlist in the Marine Corps arrived at Camp Montford Point in Jacksonville, NC. Their courage in joining, and valor on the battle field, would pave the way for the desegregation of the armed forces in 1948, exemplifying the Marine Corps’ values of selfless service and perseverance. Thank you for your legacy. Semper Fidelis.
