Marine Infantry is being worked hard in a bunch of exercises but I still don't see how they fit into the strategy. Providing security for arty? Artillery is gonna provide their own security and the idea is as small a footprint as possible right? Same applies to the rest of the GCE. Outside of missiles I just don't see where it all fits. The amazing thing is that the air wing has always been the main contributor to the naval fight while Marines seized territory. That idea seems to have been flipped and only the ground component is being jacked around with. Additionally the Navy still doesn't have its act together. We're tying ourselves to a service that is without a doubt adrift. Berger's messaging has been pathetically bad. He is rushing hard because he knows resistance exists and he wants as much in place as soon as possible in the hope that it can't be reversed. World events, the US economy and a horribly weak President will doom those plans. If he wants to succeed in his mission then he needs more than his sycophants to be on board. He needs to get the entire team to buy into his vision. He is ignoring that to his own peril. It's 101 of why change agents fail. They don't get buy in from those they lead.
