The fight in the UK over increased defense spending is fascinating. Their Treasury is holding firm, but "emotional" politicians are pushing hard..

 

… makes rejecting those calls tricky. Just take a look at who is publicly backing an increase. Cabinet figures (Liz Truss keeps saying West failed to spend enough). Labour (Keir Starmer wants the 10,000 troop cut scrapped). And yes Tories and ex-military chiefs, but… 2/

Ya know what kills me?  We're seeing it all again.  Never let a crisis go to waste.  First covid.  Now this.

We keep bouncing from so called crisis to crisis and the only people that benefit are from certain political/economic/social (as in cocktail parties) classes.
