Why would a commander send a lone vehicle into a contested city? If its a leader's recon then he's batshit crazy.
If it isn't a leader's recon then WHY would anyone obey such a suicidal order?
A lone tank into a city? When we finally get the answers to some of the Russian activity it will be required study at EVERY major war college in the world (maybe outer space if aliens are watching).
I am totally baffled by their battle plan.
My only guess is that they thought they would fight a MINOR insurgency (with the support of the majority of the people) and that a show of force would cower the rest.
As far as supply lines? Perhaps they thought that if they didn't destroy Ukrainian infrastructure that they could fall in on them?
That might be an explanation and would also be the reason why my prediction of them going hard once they found heavy resistance is proving correct.
My only question is what happens to Odessa. That has to be the goal. If not at the start then certainly now. Even if they call this whole thing off and simply solidify their gains, Odessa has to be on the menu.
Maybe once the alternative financial system is up and running.
Can you imagine in maybe five years Ukraine 2022 part two kicks off and China makes a move against Taiwan at the same time with Iran making major strikes into Israel and launches a ground assault against Saudi Arabia simultaneously?
The only thing that could make that nightmare scenario even worse is if both China and Russia go on nuclear alert and the Iranian Republican Guards launch strikes inside the US, coupled with cyber strikes (govt sponsored actors from China and Russia) against our power grid and banking system.
