Ohio-Class Submarines work with USAF and USMC during VERTREP

Note. I always assumed that these subs went out on their combat patrols and stayed underwater the majority of time. Never knew they got resupplied while underway. I did know that they would surface if a medical issue happened that was beyond the ability of onboard staff to take care of, but this type of operation I assumed was just a bunch of fluff. MAYBE I'm wrong but even if I am it does seem problematic. They performed this with a ballistic missile sub. I would imagine the Chinese and Russians sat up and took a bunch of notes!
