The M142 High Mobility Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), or HIMARS, arrived in Latvia on September 26 to participate in the Silver Arrow 2022 exercise. The combat vehicles were delivered from Germany to Latvia by a US Air Force MC-130J Commando II transport aircraft based in the UK. Exercise Silver Arrow 2022 took place from 19 to 30 September 2022.The HIMARS system gives NATO the ability to deliver powerful, long-range precision strikes, and the US Army regularly deploys the system to the Baltic States for joint exercises with NATO allies.
