Hey Gents,
Just giving you my two cents on the B-21.
I personally can't get too excited by it. Weapon systems fight as parts of a greater whole and while I don't think its fair to expect the B-21 to win the war by itself, I'm still wondering about the concept itself.
We already have a loyal wingman drone working. The Aussies have one too.
I keep looking at the fight with China and wonder why we aren't developing a medium bomber/missile truck to lob anti-ship missiles at the Chinese fleet from distance and to pivot to helping with the air fight by hauling long range anti-air missiles to be launched on command.
I'm just not excited about it and wish we were working on stuff that we can field rapidly, would be force multipliers and we could lose without worrying about rescuing aircrew when the inevitable happens.
The B-21 is brand new and will probably look fantastic.
But while its new I believe its working off an old playbook that doesn't fit with what we'll be facing.
China has the biggest Navy in the world. We're number 2. But the biggest Navy is concentrated in the Pacific. The number 2 Navy has ships all over the world reassuring allies and doing dog and pony show exercises.
So that big Navy is in reality even bigger than I thought.
Yeah.
My mind has changed on Berger. Someone has to focus on that one foe, one fight, in one clime.
