PEO LS Overview June 2023 (why does a sea denial force need this office?)

 

A sea denial force does NOT need a PEO LS office. Anything dealing with "land systems" can simply be borrowed from the Army. A SIF/Recon- Counter Recon force does not need an Amphibious Combat Vehicle! Land combat is off the table for this force. We're looking at a WW2 defense battalion (at best). If this is the new mission then the Marines can shrink to less than 100K, toss its aviation to the Navy (they could use it), give up about 95% of its officers/99.5% of its generals and revert to being commanded by the Navy.

Not being plain enough?

If this is what the Marine Corps is gonna hang its hat on then the nation would be better served by casing the flag and shutting down this service.

Sea Denial is so limiting that if this is the reason for being for the Marine Corps then the Marine Corps is a waste of money.
