26th MEU. The premier stand -in-force. Who the fuck else has a damn stand-in-force?

 via Militaryspot.com

The 26th MEU(SOC) serves as a premier crisis response force for the United States, capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations, to include setting conditions that enable the introduction of follow-on-forces during contingency operations and the integration of forward deployed special operations forces. Coupled with the Bataan ARG, the 26th MEU(SOC) serves as the premier stand-in force with a full complement of all-domain capabilities to operate persistently within the littorals or weapons engagement zones of any adversary. As a special operations capable Marine Air-Ground Task Force, the 26th MEU(SOC) serves as the “partner of choice” for forward deployed SOF conducting operations across the Tri-GCC region.

How the hell is an MEU going to set the conditions for a follow on force, yet be able to act as a "stand in force" and turn around and be able to conduct crisis response and amphibious ops?

The Marine Corps is trying to take this missile defense force worldwide and somehow make it work.

My prediction?

Berger and all his ass kissers will go down as the clowns that set the Marine Corps back at least 50 years if we're lucky.  If we're not they're the idiots that finally doomed the Marine Corps.

Either way the truth hurts.

The 82nd Airborne along with SOCOM are NOW the premier crisis response  forces.

So what does the Marine Corps really do now?

Stand firewatch in the Pacific.
