Robots are beginning to disrupt some high paying civilian jobs. When is it the military's turn?

Forgive me for saying this, but for the life of me I don't understand why we build manned bombers anymore. I don't understand why we still build manned CARGO (as in NOT carrying humans) planes. Port workers are feeling the pain of robotics. Soon that will spread all across the manufacturing base. Baby steps are even being made into long distance trucking (a couple more decades to get that right though) and even medicine.

Men will always be on the field of battle fighting, but the number of men will surely or SHOULD surely decrease in the future.

I mean it just makes sense.
