Self-driving truck on Chinese highwayThis infuriates me so much. How many of you remember the USMC initiative to get self driving vehicles and how they partnered with Oshkosh to come out with an unmanned MTVR?

The US military in general and the Marine Corps in particular could have had a whole new set up.
More Marines could be reassigned and Motor T MOS reduced a bit (same number of mechanics I imagine but drivers would decline). Additionally for all the talk of shaping the force and right sizing MOS' this was a missed opportunity.
But what I consider the most infuriating is that the military did most of the development work and then just tossed it off to the vehicle manufacturers (and Chinese it would appear) and now they're running with it while we still have Marines using game controllers to guide our unmanned vehicles.
Rant over but it just pisses me off.
