September 23, 1917: Death of an Ace (Werner Voss Dies in Combat)

via History & Headlines

On September 23, 1917, Imperial Germany lost one of its greatest flying aces when Leutnant Werner Voss was shot down and killed over West Flanders, outnumbered 8 to 1 and refusing to run!  With 48 confirmed aerial kills, Voss was the fifth highest scoring German ace of World War I despite having a flying career that lasted less than 2 years.

Story here and definitely worth a read

Anyone interested in about 100 Combat Aircraft Magazines in mint condition?

Ok gents you know the deal.  I'm down, full blown recovery mode and my girl says I'm "piddling" (basically finding shit to do).

Well I was going thru my "stuff" and decided it was time to downsize.

First up is my library.  I know.  Setup that Amazon store or go on E-Bay and sell it right?

Naw.  Don't feel like the hassle and drama.  So here's the deal. Someone in my tribe (probably more than one) is interested in aviation too.

Well I have over 100 Combat Aircraft Magazines in MINT condition (quite meticulous in taking care of my reading material) and I'll send them in bulk (or pieces) to those of my readership that want them.

The catch?

Just reimburse me for shipping.  I hate to just toss this, don't feel like setting up that a store on Amazon/E-Bay so this is what I came up with.

Any takers?

Wildcat’s 0.50 caliber M3M Heavy Machine Gun....Designed to counter threats such as Fast Attack Craft, it can also be used in the air-to-ground and air-to-air roles.

Note. Has anyone heard of utility aircraft using their door guns in an air to air role? Does the Wing train Marine Door Gunners in air to air? I know Helo Pilots traing to maneuver against aerial threats but never heard of this before...

18th Airborne Corps Twitter comments between the different units is awesome!

Note. I landed in the middle of this thing but I believe they're having some type of competition. The trash talking and memes is fucking AWESOME! RAPTOR BRIGADE WENT HARD! Whoever runs their Twitter page needs a raise!

In light of the "AUKUS" agreement, does it make sense for the US to buy the Australian Loyal Wingman (Brits too)?

The headline is worthy of discussion, but there is another factor too. The Aussies will have a bird ready SOON. While it might not be all things (we'll definitely have to Americanize it) we want we can fix it and have it in hand...instead of waiting on development programs to have one ready in 10 to 15 years. IF THE USMC is serious about remaking Marine Air then it should slice the number of F-35s it buys (both B & C) and buy the Navy refueler along with the Loyal Wingman.

Video: Fla. Police Officers Exchange Gunfire with Suspects (looks like Street Level Narcotics aka Jump Out Boys were doing work!)

Well in my area they're labeled Jump Out Boys by the Gang Bangers & CrackHeads/MethHeads/MojoHeads/HeroinHeads (you get the idea).

The crazy thing?  Did you check out the impacts on the unmarked vehicle?  Instinctive shooting is a bitch!  Those bastards had pretty good groups on the windshield.

This had to be an ambush...either that or these guys walked up on something major...or they're just batshit crazy.  Maybe all three.

Mark my words on this too.

America shifted HARD to the left after the George Floyd incident. In my opinion it was rightfully protested.  The problem is that it went to far, got politicized for a presidential campaign, kept churning for the benefit of the election, and of course the far left overestimated the moment and pushed to defund the police.

NOW!

America is about to make a massive lurch to the right thru legislation that will have Democrat support and alot of support from some people that protested the Floyd incident.

WE ARE in the middle of a crime wave.  Old Skool Guys in Law Enforcement are bowing out.  Place holders (like me) aren't gonna stay for 20 years.  Newbies are hard to find.

Biden will (if he runs again) brag in his re-election about the crime bill that he's now ashamed of.  Quite honestly when the Republicans win in 2022, he'll sign into law a bill that will make the previous one look like playtime.

Just watch.
