A couple of my holsters.  The old standby Safariland and the new hotness the Alien Gear LVL 2 Slim.  Why do I like it?  Cause its a level 2 holster in a level 1 world.  The idea of being in civilian clothes (mind you I never open carry out of uniform) and not have at least a level 2 holster is just insane to me.  I've watched too many snatch and grabs out of level 1 holster that I just can't go that way.

The Alien Gear LVL 2 Slim holster seems (by touch and sight) to be very robust holster and will accept a variety of lights (running a TLR7A off duty, TLR1HL on...the website will give a list of compatible lights).  Check it out here.

A few things about this...

1.  In this instance and Rob seems to support it, we're back to the British concept of an Infantry tank or to move forward we're seeing the way that the USMC used tanks.

2.  If tanks are back to being infantry support and not break through vehicles then do we need them as heavily armored as they are?  The Army seems to be on the right track with its 50mm cannon and loads of APS on its light tank.

3.  Infantry riding on tanks?  Two steps forward for the Ukrainian forces and one step back.  One loitering munition and you have a tank and infantry squad kill.

4.  Why do we continue to see individual tank operations?  Is this the future?  Dispersed formation make this the way forward?

5.  Just ONE anti-tank system on the defenders side and this skirmish would have turned out differently. Artillery on call and this would have ended differently.  Even a roaming attack helicopter and this would have ended differently.

My conclusion?

We can take bits and pieces of the fight and apply it to future warfare.  But we should NOT accept as a WHOLE what we're seeing as a blue print for what the future holds.

When did the 2nd ID become a combined division? Is it reinforced or is "normal" strength? If we're doing stuff like this then we can pull our guys out. S. Korea, much to the dismay of the "partnership" zealots will NOT participate in a war against China and are focused on N. Korea a bit with the rest of their attention more on Japan. 

Its been tried before, but you just can't build a "NATO of the Pacific". 

 The dynamics of the region just won't allow it.
