A couple of things become readily apparent (at least I think so).
1. This is becoming an industrial war. The US is ramping up to supply Ukraine with all types of munitions. To the point of endangering our own national security.
2. Our cannons are getting the barrels shot out of them. It hasn't made it to the top of Military Twitter, but the Ukrainians are shipping artillery barrels across the border to Poland for repair at an alarming rate.
3. Ukrainian air defense is doing a good job of destroying drone attacks. The problem? You can kill 37 of 40 but even the 3 that get thru can cause tremendous pain.
4. I wonder how the Ukrainian supply of anti-aircraft missiles/guns is holding up. Remember the ENTIRE Western World all bought into the idea that our air forces would protect us from aerial threats. EVERYONE is caught with their pants down due to the drone threat and EVERYONE is playing catchup.
5. We're about to send Patriot missiles to Ukraine. You can bet that isn't to deal with drones. Remember that the Russians also got a bunch of Iranian ballistic missiles. I fully expect a massive barrage of those missiles right after or in the middle of a winter storm that plunges temperatures into the negative territory.
General Winter was once discounted by people on this blog. As a matter of fact they laughed.
Fucking ignorant sheeple.
Thank God I have a few SMART readers that are able to look at this thing with clear eyes and not the eyes of the IGNORANT masses.

No, the Military Dragged Itself in to Politics via CDR Salamander

American respect for its military is plummeting. It has dropped by 30 points in the past five years in surveys conducted by the Reagan Foundation. In their recently released poll, less than half of respondents have a great deal of trust and confidence in America’s military. Unless both civilian and military leaders take corrective actions to repair the breach, this will impede recruiting, diminish unit cohesion, and damage the bond between the military and the public it serves.
As concerning as the drop itself is the reason. 62 percent of respondents said they were losing trust and confidence because the military leadership is becoming overly politicized. Nor is the attitude partisan: 60 percent of Democrats gave that answer, as did 60 percent of Independents and 65 percent of Republicans. Only 35 percent of respondents expressed confidence in the military’s ability to act in a professional and nonpolitical manner.

It is much more than that. The American public see senior leadership who refuse to defend their own institution. Our military reflects its nation, so of course will have many of the same ills. There are the usual suspects who will use any topic to bash the military they will never like and will attempt to paint the military with a very thick and broad brush – often using questionable metrics to describe a military full of racists, sexists, and rapists – and when confronted our senior leaders either remain silent or accept the worst descriptions of the personnel they lead.
Service members see that. Family members see that.
They also see a senior uniformed leadership who will discipline enlisted personnel, company grade and field grade officers with aplomb, but do nothing but defend, excuse, or even look the other way from abject failures from fellow General and Flag Officers (GOFO).
The greatest national humiliation of our nation since the fall of South Vietnam was only 15-months ago, and yet who has taken responsibility or been held accountable? It was at best a negotiated surrender and retreat under fire – and yet in front of the people’s elected representatives we made excuses, fudged, or made the farcical claim that Kabul was a successful Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) (see 2:38).
The whole disaster was treated like the weather. No one was to blame. It just “happened.”

All those that cheer for the current action by the West in Ukraine should continue to cheer when a terrorist decides to sit at the end of a runway and knocks down a civilian jetliner with a donated anti-aircraft missile. There is a battle for your mind going on. You can bet that in addition to military aid, the US is providing the Ukrainians with social media aid to get the American people to support the extravagant spending that is happening to prop up that corrupt govt (if this was an African country all of you cheerleaders would be yelling that it ain't our business and we're spending too much money...at least I'm consistent).
Additionally I had time. Mostly I don't. Life has me busy and this is just a part time activity.
So to my detractors? Get over yourselves. Do your own damn research. Debate it among yourselves in those rooms where everyone agrees with ya.
But to blunt I'm tire of many of ya'lls bullshit.
If you don't like it here then fucking leave.
